Peregrine Falcons - Gloucester, MA - City Hall

A pair of Peregrine Falcons have made the Gloucester City Hall clock tower their home. They arrived late last fall and as of yesterday, April 26, 2010, were still hanging around the tower.
The female is shown above. She's considerably larger than the male, shown below.
I spent several hours watching and photographing the pair over the weekend hoping they would show signs of nesting. Nothing doing! Other than a 10 minute flight together over the harbor they showed no signs of utilizing the nest box that was added to the tower a few years ago. I'll check again this weekend but it is getting late for falcons to start nesting this year.

 As if to say "catch me if you can" this pigeon seems to be proving just how dumb it is. The photo below shows the male leaving his perch moments later.
