Owly Weekend - March 08, 2011

Stops at several locations around the north shore this weekend turned up 3 species of owl with one sitting on the nest already.

You can just make out the ears and face of this Great-horned Owl as she sits incubating her eggs in this heron rookery in North Andover along Bradford St.

A tip from Sean Riley, thanks Sean!, found this red morph Screech Owl sitting in a broken snag in Topsfield.
and lastly the Saw-whet Owl roosting at the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary was seen again. These cute little owls will start nesting very soon as well.
